Junior Company is more than a program, it’s a community where young people who love military history can find encouragement, connection, and a sense of belonging. Many kids with a passion for the past don’t always meet peers who share their interests. Here, they do.
We bring together families, reenactors, museums, and local partners to create a supportive network for young historians. Our goal is to make sure every child who loves history knows they’re not alone and that there is a place where their curiosity is understood and celebrated.
Through shared resources, mentorship, and opportunities to explore new interests, we help kids discover what’s possible, whether they’re curious about reenactment, museum work, archaeology, research, or simply want to learn more about the world around them.
Why Community Matters
For many kids, finding others who share their passion can be life‑changing. Community gives them:

Reading is one of the best ways for young historians to deepen their understanding of the past. Here we share recommended books, from military history to archaeology to historical fiction, along with reviews written by Junior Company members. These reviews help kids practice critical thinking and give families a sense of what their peers are enjoying.
